在高温条件下用还原剂将含镁原料中的镁元素还原成单质镁的冶炼技术。简称热法炼镁。

热还原法炼镁
原罐（还原反应器）垂直地面放置、从罐外通过罐壁加热罐内炉料的炼镁技术。属于外热式硅热法炼镁。主要特点是还原罐垂直于地面布置，可借助炉料和还原渣的重力实现机械化、自动化加料和出渣。又称竖罐外热炼镁法，简称竖罐法。

热还原法炼镁
还原罐（还原反应器）水平放置、从罐外通过罐壁加热罐内炉料的镁冶炼技术。又称横罐式外热法，简称横罐法。属外热式硅热法，主要特点是还原罐平行于地面，由人工加料和出渣。
马格尼特法/ Magnetherm process /Magnetherm process
热还原法炼镁
在硅热法炼镁原料中添加少量铝土矿，使还原渣熔点降低并且液态熔渣可导电加热炉料，在高温、真空条件下还原出镁蒸气的镁冶炼技术。又称熔渣导电半连续法炼镁、半连续硅热法炼镁。属于内热式硅热法。这种镁冶金技术的还原反应器装料量大，一个还原周期可产粗镁数吨。
波尔扎诺法/ Bolzano process /Bolzano process
热还原法炼镁
采用盘式金属片或石墨电阻在还原反应器内用电直接加热炉料的炼镁工艺。属于内热式硅热法。最早由意大利波尔扎诺（Bolzano）镁冶炼厂试验成功。

热还原法炼镁
在高温下用含有碳元素的还原剂将含镁原料中的镁元素还原成单质镁的冶炼技术。属于热还原法炼镁。分为常压碳热法与真空碳热法。

热还原法炼镁
在高温、真空或常压条件下，用含有硅元素的还原剂将含镁原料中的镁元素还原成单质镁的冶炼技术。属于热还原法炼镁。
粗镁精炼熔剂/ fluxing agent for refining crude magnesium /fluxing agent for refining crude magnesium
热还原法炼镁
对电解法与热还原法得到的粗镁进行精炼除杂而使用的熔盐。

在高温下用碳化钙（CaC2）作为还原剂，将含镁原料中的镁元素还原成单质镁的冶炼技术。属于热还原法炼镁。
