海流/ ocean currents /ocean currents
海流
海水在一定空间范围内相对稳定的流动，是海水运动的普遍形式之一。
地转流/ geostrophic currents /geostrophic currents
地转流
当由海水密度分布不均匀所产生的水平压强梯度力与水平地转偏向力平衡时所产生的理想海流，这种近似在忽略湍流摩擦力作用的较深的海洋内区广泛存在。
埃克曼漂流/ Ekman drift currents /Ekman drift currents
埃克曼漂流
理想化的无边界、无限深和密度均匀的海洋，因海面受稳定的风长时间作用，吹动表层海水运动。通过湍流黏性力，动量逐层向下传递，引起各层海水的运动，在运动过程中，同时受到地转偏向力的作用而改变方向和大小，当两者达到平衡时出现的稳定海流。又称风漂流。

惯性流
漂流在脱离风力强制作用海区后，以惯性力维持的海流。是地转偏向力与加速度平衡情况下的海流。
上升流/ upwelling /upwelling
上升流
因表层流场的水平辐散，使表层以下的海水铅直上升的流动。这种流动将海洋下层冷而重、且通常营养盐丰富的海水带到海洋表层。
下降流/ downwelling /downwelling
下降流
与上升流对应，因表层流场的水平辐合，使海水由海面铅直下降的流动。

米兰尔环流
在强风作用下，出现在海洋表层的螺旋形环流。
大洋环流/ ocean circulation /ocean circulation
大洋环流
大洋海水在海面风应力的驱动下，以及在太阳辐射、结冰融冰、降水和蒸发等热盐效应作用下，形成大范围的海水密度分布不均匀，便产生水平压强梯度力，使海水由某个海域向另一海域流动，形成首尾相接的独立环流系统或流旋。又称洋流。

大洋中海水沿一定流路流动的现象。
风生环流/ wind-driven circulation /wind-driven circulation
风生环流
海洋中由海表面风应力驱动的大尺度环流，它与由海表面热盐通量驱动的“热盐环流”构成了海洋大尺度运动的两种主要形态。风生环流是海洋中主要的流动形态，主要分布在1000米以上的海洋上层。
